Brian Birch
Hi!
I’ve been a freelance producer for 16 years in the New York, Los Angeles, Providence, and Chicago markets having worked on both union and non-union projects in production and post-production.
While in Los Angeles, I produced a number of projects ranging from feature films to television series to doc series to, more recently, commercials, seeing most of them from concept through production through post production. I’ve experienced almost every curveball and I’ve built up a wealth of experience working in all aspects of media.
Prior to commercial work, I served as Production Manager on the second season of Making A Murderer for Netflix, filming primarily in Chicago and Wisconsin. I've also produced a number of short films while attending Columbia University. I’m very accustomed to not only putting a project together creatively, but also figuring out the nuts and bolts of bringing it through production and post production in ways that exceed expectations.
Prior to receiving my MFA from Columbia University’s graduate film program, I worked as Field Producer and Assistant Director on three seasons of the lifestyle television series Cultivating Life, which aired nationally on PBS and WGN America. Not only was I in charge of interacting with on camera personalities, executive producers, and network executives, but I also organized and executed all production responsibilities on these remote shoots all around the country.
If you'd like to work together on something, please reach out!
